Character Interview: Amber Brown

Character Interview with Amber Brown
Leading character from Silenced by RaeBeth McGee-Buda
Coming Early 2013

When it comes to the world of books, what do you think is the most important? There's been talk that others are saying the characters because without them... the book wouldn't go on.

Personally I think there are two things that are important when it comes to books. The author and the characters. The authors create the characters and the characters make a book come alive.

Therefore, I'd like to welcome Amber Brown from Silenced. She's here to tell us her deep dark secrets and what we can look forward to with Silenced.

If you aren't sure which book I'm talking about... please see the description below to learn more before we begin our interview.

Coming Early 2013

Amber Brown spent her entire existence believing Dave was her father. When her mother reveals this is untrue, she goes through an emotional spiral with depression. It's hard for her to believe her mother had lied to her all this time.

A move to a new home and town causes Amber to be consumed by her "darkness" and reverts to cutting to free herself from her pain.

When Casey, her new friend enters her life, she introduces Amber to parties, drugs, and Amber's new boyfriend Landon. The secret of cutting begins to take affect on Amber as she tries to hide it from her friends and family. In the mist of everything, Amber has the desire to find out who her biological father is.

Follow Amber through her trials of depression and cutting, along with the discovery of love.

Okay now that we are on the same page..... Amber welcome to The Writing World. It's great having you here.

HELLO AMBER. PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF.

Hello, I'm Amber Brown. I am seventeen years old and I'm about to graduate from high school. I live in Morgantown, West Virginia.

ITS GREAT TO MEET YOU. I'M HAPPY TO HAVE YOU HERE. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE?

I would like to say thank you to the author who created me. I'm glad RaeBeth is willing to share my story and get depression known. I think the subject is too hushed and people need to be more aware.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE AUTHOR?

I think she's a bit bossy. Like when I'm not in the mood to do something...she makes me do it anyway. She's pushy. Although I am happy that she wrote my story with a great ending, which I know readers will enjoy. The only thing they won't like is having to wait to see what happens. My story will end in Silenced:The Overtaking which we are working hard on finishing. I really enjoy what she did with my life in that one.

WHAT IS YOUR WISH FOR YOUR STORY?

I just want it to be heard. I understand that cutting and depression is a hard subject for some. But when people turn their heads, others are dying that could have been helped. I hope my story helps someone out there. If one person is saved... then my job is complete.

WHAT IS ONE THING THAT YOU WOULD CHANGE IF YOU COULD?

I'd change the way I am. In parts of my story, readers will see what I mean by this. But I acted a bit selfish. There's not much more I can say without giving more away.

WILL WE SEE YOU AGAIN?

Most certainly. I plan on returning after the book is released where I can talk about my story a bit more. I hate keeping secrets. They drive me nuts.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ENCOURAGING WORDS FOR OUR READERS?

Whatever you do... never give up. There's nothing in this life worth taking your own. I'm so happy that I have a great support system. Landon is my... I guess one would say... guardian angel. He was sent from above. He never judged me. He's only ever helped me. Although at first my mom disagreed. Let's see if that can be settled. After it's released, the readers can break the tie. They can say who is right... me or my mom.

ALRIGHT. WE WILL HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. I'VE REALLY ENJOYED TALKING WITH YOU AND LEARNING A BIT MORE ABOUT THE BOOK/YOUR STORY. I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT IT.

As for the readers, thank you for taking the time to read this unique character interview. I'm glad you stopped by. Feel free to leave comments below. I'd love to hear from you. Amber... readers.... have a wonderful day.
